St Peter’s College Chapel is a sacred building that is meant to stand out from it’s surroundings.  The large Catholic School community fundraised for over a decade and commissioned Stevens Lawson Architects for the project.  The floorplan was designed as a fish or diamond shape with a giant cross featured at the point of the diamond.  The cross can be observed both internally and externally.  Viewing from the outside the cross looks to be lit from within , internally it cleverly allows light through the skylight to beam down the centre line of the assembly.  The Create Range Smooth Paint Grade Roman was chosen to be painted a pristine white, as the design is one of noble simplicity, forward looking yet respecting years of historical Catholic traditions.
